I have worked for The Poetry School since it was started by Mimi Khalvati nine years ago. It now has a wide range of courses, workshops and one-off events in London and there are programmes running in other parts of the country. Phone or e-mail (see above) for a brochure.

I run two monthly courses at my home in Arnos Grove, North London, a few minutes’ walk from Arnos Grove Tube Station on the Piccadilly Line. Please feel free to phone me on 020-8886-1329 or to e-mail me if you would like discuss attending one of them. If I can't offer you a place straightaway on the Prose and Poetry Workshop or Taking Writing Further I will put you on a waiting list as places do crop up and this is often the best way to join one of my groups. I will also offer advice and other suggestions.

The Prose and Poetry Workshop with Myra Schneider

This monthly workshop is for writers of some experience. Each session will include a writing exercise or a focus on a writing topic and constructive feedback on participants' work. Everyone will be invited to make comments. The autumn and spring terms will each have an extra session on a Saturday morning in which a longer writing exercise will be included. Please submit a short sample of prose or three poems to me at the address below which is also the venue:

Taking Your Writing Further with Myra Schneider

This monthly course is for advanced poets. We shall examine techniques relating both to subject matter and form which will offer participants different possibilities to consider as they develop their range. There will be detailed reference to the work of contemporary poets. The rest of the meeting will be devoted to in-depth criticism of participants' poems. Applicants are asked to submit 6 poems to me at the address below which is also the venue
